Coming soon to our shores...

Bruce was stunned when he read the one-sentence reply from his fund. His daughter was starting college, and he needed to withdraw currency from a real estate fund he’d invested in several years ago. He had plenty of cash in the account, so he went ahead and made the request online. But the response Bruce received stunned him. In big bold letters, he was told that due to the financial crisis…

"We regret to inform investors that cash withdrawals are not permitted at this time."

This isn’t a fictional account. And it’s not from the 2008 financial crisis.

It happened last week.

Within 11 days after Britain voted to leave the EU, funds banned clients from withdrawing funds due to “extraordinary market conditions.” These are not small, obscure funds in the UK. Each manages billions of British pounds. Because of the crisis, however, it quickly became apparent that continued redemption would crash the fund and force management to sell assets at fire-sale prices. Executives at each fund felt they had no choice. Bruce couldn’t get his own money out!

Back home in Malaysia, the usual denial of withdrawal of cash would probably due to the fact that one do not have sufficient cash to begin with.... but for some of us whom has stowed their life savings and hard earned cash, this is indeed bad news. Fikir-fikirkanlah ya...

Nilai wang kian menyusut

Jadi kalau negara-negara atas angin tak mampu membayar hutang mereka, fikirkanlah kedudukan Malaysia.

Becoming a silver surfer

Lupakan emas buat sementara sebab harganya mencanak naik, buat masa ini, kome belilah perak. Any average Joe can do it! 3 weeks ago, penulis terserempak dengan DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak di Kinokuniya - kebetulan kami membelek buku pelaburan yang sama, a very humble person. Paduka Seri komen: "Do tell the populace about precious metal investments".... things happened so fast... nak berselfie dgn baginda, tapi penulis rasa malu....

Its befitting sangat Silver = Perak. Hmmm... terjumpa lak Sultan Negeri Perak lak tu... sign of sorts gamaknya!

Facts:

For centuries, the gold-to-silver ratio was 15 to 1. 1 oz of gold could buy 15 oz of silver. But the skewered “modern” gold-to-silver ratio is closer to 50 to 1. Yet, in mid-2015 the ratio is 75 to 1, so right now silver is very undervalued relative to gold. Serious!

Be aware, investment in silver is not for the faint hearted. Prices for silver is very volatile. Placed an order for silver today, in less then 20 minutes after I put down the phone, the selling price for silver  skyrocketed more than RM200.. Takajuik den! For these past months the average price of silver had steadily increase from USD16 to USD20 per Oz and is still climbing.
