Pursuant to the feedback from Prof Dr. Abu Bakar Munir, consultant to the Government of Malaysia on the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), the established practice abroad is that the IT Department (being the custodian of all IT facilities and computer systems) is the most appropriate department to spearhead compliance to the PDPA.
